Overview

As Lead DevOps Engineer you will own the design, reliability, and cost efficiency of a multi-region AWS platform running Kubernetes and serverless workloads. You’ll set technical direction for the DevOps team, drive platform standards, and mentor engineers to build resilient, secure systems. You’ll own platform SLAs and act as the authority on resilience, security, and enablement across cross-functional partners. This is hands-on leadership with a focus on automation, AI-assisted operations, and scalable delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Platform Ownership: ensure end-to-end reliability, stability, and performance with defined SLAs and incident standards
  • Zero-Downtime Operations: manage multi-region, zero-downtime platform and deployment strategies (blue/green, canary)
  • Security & Compliance: own security posture end-to-end, IAM, KMS, secrets, vulnerability management, PCI DSS v4 and CIS benchmarks
  • DR & Business Continuity: participate in disaster recovery strategy and automation
  • TCO & Cost Management: drive platform TCO, cost visibility, rightsizing and tagging
  • Infrastructure as Code & CI/CD: set standards for IaC (Terraform, Terragrunt) and secure, fast deployments
  • Observability: own observability strategy with Datadog, define SLOs/SLAs and runbooks
  • Team Leadership & Mentoring: lead and develop DevOps engineers
  • AI & Automation: lead adoption of AI in CI/CD, runbooks, incident response, and tooling
Key requirements
  • Deep AWS experience at scale (EKS, Lambda, EC2, RDS/Aurora, multi-region networking, security services)
  • Proven ownership of production-grade EKS platform with zero-downtime deployments (ArgoCD, Istio, blue/green, canary)
  • Terraform expertise and IaC standards leadership
  • CI/CD governance with focus on developer experience and automation
  • Experience embedding AI into SLDC workflows
  • Hands-on disaster recovery with automated backups, multi-region failover, AWS FIS, defined RTO/RPO
  • Security audits and risk discussions; familiarity with CrowdStrike, Rapid7, SIEM/SOC
  • Observability ownership with Datadog (SLOs, dashboards, alerts)
  • Experience leading or mentoring a DevOps team
  • Proficiency in Python, Bash, Ansible, Helm, GitHub Actions
