Overview

In this role, you will lead initiatives to improve engineering experience by shaping platform templates and tooling. You will bridge application development and platform engineering to create scalable, production-ready templates and observability. You’ll influence platform strategy, contribute to AI enablement, and mentor engineers across teams. Your work helps Liberis accelerate delivery and adoption of robust, developer-centric solutions that scale.

Responsibilities
  • Own and evolve the service template library for .NET, Node.js and Python, including scaffolding, dependency management, containerisation, local development, and production config.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD templates in GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps, standardized across stacks and teams.
  • Define and ship observability standards (structured logging, tracing, alerts) integrated into templates for production readiness.
  • Work hands-on with Datadog, incident.io, and/or GCP/Azure-native tooling to build the observability layer.
  • Contribute to Azure-to-GCP migration thinking, building PoCs to inform tooling decisions.
  • Partner with product engineers to identify and fix root causes of developer experience issues (slow pipelines, confusing templates, missing runbooks).
  • Lead technical decisions on platform tooling, evaluate new tools, write ADRs, drive cross-team adoption.
  • Mentor engineers in the Cloud Platform team and support product engineers in understanding platform tooling.
Key requirements
  • Proficiency in at least one of .NET (C#), Node.js, or Python with production-grade service templating experience.
  • Strong GCP experience; Azure experience is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience designing reusable CI/CD templates (GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps).
  • Containerisation experience (Docker) and deployment on Kubernetes or Cloud Run.
  • Observability experience with Datadog, incident.io, or cloud-native monitoring (GCP Cloud Operations or Azure Monitor).
  • Infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform.
  • Proven track record of driving tool adoption and producing documentation that is widely read.
