Overview

As Lead DevOps Engineer, you will shape and guide the design of scalable, high-availability trading infrastructure across cloud and on-prem environments. You will work closely with engineering, security, and operations to advance DevOps, platform engineering, and observability, while hands-on contributing to automation and deployment improvements. This role focuses on reliable, secure delivery of business-critical systems and enables AI-assisted tooling to accelerate engineering and operations. You will lead cross-functional initiatives and mentor engineers, delivering impact at scale in a global setting.

Responsibilities
  • Design and evolve scalable, secure trading infrastructure
  • Provide technical direction and hands-on contribution across DevOps and platform engineering
  • Build and improve automated CI/CD pipelines for Java and Python applications
  • Automate provisioning, deployment, configuration, and operational workflows across cloud and on-prem
  • Support production systems with high availability, DR, incident response, vulnerability management, and change management
  • Containerize applications and manage deployments with orchestration platforms
  • Partner with development teams to improve deployment, monitoring, and readiness
  • Use infrastructure as code and configuration management tools (Terraform, Chef, Ansible)
  • Troubleshoot complex deployment/infra issues to prevent recurrence via automation
  • Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate automation and workflows
  • Identify and implement AI-enabled operational capabilities for automation and observability
  • Contribute to safe, secure adoption of AI across practices
  • Lead and participate in Agile delivery with Jira, managing priorities and status
  • Collaborate with global teams, vendors, and stakeholders on releases and platform improvements
  • Establish best practices for CI/CD, observability, cloud operations, and automation
Key requirements
  • Hands-on technical lead experience
  • Agile delivery experience with Jira or similar
  • Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Linux/Unix administration and performance tuning
  • Scripting in Python, Bash, or similar
  • CI/CD experience with Jenkins, GitLab, or similar
  • Containerization and artifact publishing
  • Infrastructure as code with Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or similar
  • Networking knowledge for distributed systems
  • Observability tools experience (e.g., Splunk)
  • Kubernetes or other container orchestration; AWS EKS is a plus
  • AWS and hybrid cloud experience (EC2, ALB, S3, RDS/Aurora, EFS)
  • Financial/trading systems or low-latency infrastructure experience
  • AI-assisted tooling experience (GitHub Copilot, Cursor) is a plus
  • Global/matrixed org experience
  • Relevant certifications (AWS/CKA/etc) are a plus
