Overview

As a Senior Lead Software Engineer in the Global Electronic Trading Group, you will help build and deliver secure, scalable market-leading technology. You will work within an agile team to enhance latency-sensitive trading, data analytics, and quantitative environments in London, partnering with global colleagues. You will influence product design, own critical DevOps and release processes, and drive the adoption of cutting-edge tooling. This role offers impact across trading systems and engineering culture with a strong emphasis on reliability and performance.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical guidance to business teams, contractors, and vendors
  • Develop secure, high-quality production code and review others' work
  • Influence product design, functionality, and operational processes
  • Act as a subject matter expert in one or more focus areas
  • Promote firmwide SDLC frameworks, tools, and practices
  • Advocate for leading-edge technologies in decision-making
  • Contribute to a diverse and inclusive team culture
  • Coordinate DevOps / Integration release management activities
  • Monitor plant capacity and reporting, and manage CI environment
  • Provide third-level production support
Key requirements
  • Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Advanced proficiency in at least one programming language
  • Strong knowledge across cloud, AI/ML, mobile, or related technical disciplines
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight
  • Background in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field
  • Linux proficiency with command-line skills, scripting (Python/Perl), UNIX
  • Cloud-native development and run capabilities (microservices, containers, dynamic orchestration)
  • CI/CD experience (Jenkins, release management tools) and automation/tool development in Python or similar scripting
  • Automation experience to reduce toil and generate reporting
  • Strong collaboration and communication
