Lead Environment & Release Engineer - 3 Month Contract - Hybrid/Warwickshire

Type: 3 Month Contract

Day Rate: Market Rates (Outside IR35)

Location: Warwickshire

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of software release strategies, ensuring smooth transitions between environments.
  • Collaborate closely with development, QA, and operations teams to streamline build and deployment processes.
  • Establish and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to automate and optimise software delivery.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to software releases, build failures, and environment configurations.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
  • Oversee environment provisioning and management, ensuring all environments are optimised for performance and reliability.
  • Continuously evaluate and implement new tools and technologies to enhance release management processes.

Skills

  • Proven experience in a Lead Environment & Release Engineer role or similar capacity, with a strong understanding of software development lifecycles.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI,aswell as containerisation technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Solid experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
