As Lead Forward Deployed Engineer, you shape the technical direction for complex AI projects and guide delivery across multiple workstreams. You balance architecture and practicality, mentoring engineers and driving reusable solutions. You work with cross-functional teams to deploy responsible AI in regulated environments and partner with customers to achieve measurable outcomes. This role offers impact at scale, influencing strategy, technology choices, and team growth within a fast-growing AI-focused business.

- Set technical direction for complex ML projects and align priorities across teams
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable ML/software systems with solid architectural justification
- Define problems, roadmap projects, and oversee multi-workstream delivery in high-risk settings
- Develop shared libraries and guide engineers in contributing to them
- Lead hiring, select candidates, and mentor engineers to boost team growth
- Adopt new technologies and evolve ways of working to stay ahead
- Act as technical expert and coach to customers, estimating large workstreams and defending decisions
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong Python skills with experience operationalising models using ML frameworks
- Hands-on experience with at least one major Cloud Provider (Azure, GCP, AWS) and leading teams to build full-stack apps
- Proficiency with containerisation (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Experience in coaching and managing engineering teams and delivering client-focused outcomes
