Lead Generative AI Software Engineer

Build generative AI applications for OpenText Content Aviator in Waterloo, using LLMs, RAG techniques, Python, and Node.js. Work is office-based in Canada.

This Lead Software Developer role combines hands-on engineering with technical direction for an AI-powered, agentic platform. You will develop intelligent agents, orchestration frameworks, and production capabilities supporting conversational search, summarization, translation, and automation. Collaboration with product managers, architects, customers, and engineers is central to delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build intelligent agents and orchestration frameworks
• Lead scalable backend service implementation
• Own technical initiatives from concept through deployment
• Guide architecture reviews and technical decision-making
• Integrate AI capabilities into production systems

Requirements:

• Seven-plus years of professional software development
• Two-plus years of technical leadership experience
• Strong Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python skills
• Experience integrating vector databases with LLM applications
• Ability to balance development and technical leadership
