Lead Guidewire Architect

As Lead Guidewire Architect, you own the end-to-end programme architecture for a major five-year transformation of core insurance platforms. You guide delivery teams to deliver scalable, well-governed outcomes aligned with global architecture. You work with executive stakeholders to translate complex architecture into clear business decisions and drive cross-functional collaboration. This role sits in our London Architecture team and offers a hybrid working model. You’ll shape target architecture, governance, and strategic roadmaps that enable the business to innovate and operate at scale.

• Define and implement technology strategy, roadmaps, and patterns aligned with global architecture
• Maximise reuse of technology to improve cost efficiency
• Monitor progress against roadmaps to ensure IT objectives are met
• Establish strategy, reference architecture, and roadmaps for assigned domains
• Conduct technology assurance and governance in line with architecture policy
• Facilitate standardised enterprise architecture documentation and governance
• Lead architecture and design activities, chair design forums, and resolve cross-domain issues
• Support executive decisions by translating architectural topics into business and investment terms
• Maintain relationships within IT, business units, and external suppliers
• Balance delivery pace with risk management and prioritise resources with risk teams

• Proven experience leading architecture across large-scale, multi-year transformations including legacy modernisation and complex migrations
• Strong insurance domain expertise and experience governing major systems integrators and delivery partners
• Hands-on experience with Guidewire platform (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter, Product Model) and knowledge of Guidewire Cloud and upgrade strategies
• Experience with modern insurance platforms (Guidewire, Hx, Salesforce) and related ecosystem technologies
• Deep business and domain expertise across end-to-end insurance value chain (underwriting, pricing, distribution, policy administration, claims, finance, regulatory obligations) and ability to apply it to architectural decisions
• Alignment to architecture governance, standards, and controls while enabling delivery pace
