Lead Infrastructure Engineer

In this role you will lead the design, delivery, and operation of complex Cloud infrastructure for HMRC’s technology platforms. You’ll work within CEPO to shape secure, scalable services and guide cross‑team delivery of modern infrastructure. You’ll tackle problems across compute, storage, and networking with a security-by-design mindset, delivering reliable digital experiences for millions of customers. • Lead design, implementation, and administration of complex Cloud infrastructure solutions
• Establish standards for systems integration across the service lifecycle
• Define and maintain strategic roadmaps for infrastructure services
• Interact with, read, and write code to support automation and baseline repair
• Design solutions with embedded security controls
• Manage planning and coordination of system and acceptance tests
• Troubleshoot complex issues across computing, storage, networking, and software
• Lead teams in applying modern development standards and best practices
• Mentor infrastructure teams toward high-quality outcomes and continuous improvement

• Expert knowledge of IT infrastructure and ability to lead secure-by-design implementations
• Ability to apply modern development standards and lead others in their application
