Lead Infrastructure Engineer - Network Connectivity Services

You drive the design and optimization of scalable, secure infrastructure within the Network Services team. You partner with cross-functional peers to deliver highly available systems that meet evolving business needs. You shape technical strategy, mentor engineers, and work across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa to ensure resilient connectivity. This role offers impact on critical platforms and exposure to AI-assisted delivery practices in a global financial services environment. You will lead with a hands-on, collaborative approach to advance our infrastructure landscape.
Responsibilities- Lead requirements capture with business and tech stakeholders to define connectivity solutions and non-functional requirements
- Develop end-to-end connectivity designs aligned to architectural patterns and reference models
- Own tender and bid lifecycle for telecom connectivity, including evaluation and vendor rationale
- Embed resilience and operational risk controls into all designs
- Lead design reviews and architecture governance, managing exceptions per standards
- Design and implement scalable, resilient infrastructure architectures for business-critical apps
- Collaborate with telecom providers, vendors, and internal teams throughout bid and design lifecycle
- Manage supplier relationships, SLAs, and performance reviews
- Support regional/global network strategy through process improvements and market expertise
- Leverage enterprise AI capabilities to accelerate infrastructure analysis, with data handling aligned to security requirements
- Apply reuse-first, AI-assisted practices to identify recurring issues and ensure traceability of changes
- Formal training or certification in infrastructure engineering
- Expertise in AWS, Azure, or GCP including compute, storage, networking
- Deep knowledge of Layer 0-3 networking and telecom technologies (dark fiber, DWDM, Ethernet, IP-VPN, DIA, broadband, cellular, satellite)
- Extensive experience in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa telecom connectivity market
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Organizational and time management skills across geographies
- Experience using enterprise AI capabilities for infrastructure analysis and design documentation
- Experience applying reuse-first, AI-assisted practices in delivery and automation
