Lead Infrastructure Engineer (Python)

As Lead Cloud and Infrastructure Engineer you design, build, and sustain robust, scalable infrastructure automation for our algorithmic trading platform. You’ll lead a small team, partner with cross-functional groups, and drive SRE-driven improvements to reduce risk and cost. You will own architectural decisions for Linux-based electronic trading infrastructure and mentor engineers to raise the team’s capabilities. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on delivery in a fast-paced, globally distributed environment.

- Design, implement and support new infrastructure solutions for algorithmic trading
- Collaborate with development, sysadmin, and infrastructure teams to reduce costs and manage technology risk
- Serve as SME for Linux-based electronic trading infrastructure
- Mentor and lead engineers, providing technical direction
- Provide technical leadership for a small team of engineers and SREs
- Drive continuous infrastructure improvement via reviews, blameless post-mortems and SRE practices
- Advanced knowledge of Python and software engineering concepts
- Strong understanding of core Unix components and OS customization
- Experience architecting large-scale, robust systems
- Domain expertise in infrastructure automation and integration
- Ability to describe architectural trade-offs quantitatively
- Linux and CLI development experience
- Familiarity with debugging tools (tcpdump, strace)
- Experience with modern development tools (git, Jenkins, TDD, CI)
- Lifecycle ownership of project components from design to support
- Proven technical leadership and ability to mentor others
