Lead IT Network Administrator, Network, Voice, AV

Overview

In this role you lead the administration and optimization of complex Cisco-based networking, voice, and AV services across enterprise and secure environments. You will act as a technical escalation point for operations and projects, ensuring security, performance, and availability. You’ll work in a highly regulated setting, collaborating with cyber, cloud, and application teams to deliver resilient, mission-critical services. This opportunity places you at the forefront of advanced networking and unified communications within a growing, BPSS-cleared environment.

Responsibilities
  • Configure and optimize Cisco networking environments (ISE, NDFC, Nexus, Leaf-Spine, VXLAN, EVPN, SD-WAN)
  • Manage routing and switching across data centres, offices, cloud, and remote sites
  • Administer secure network services and access control (Palo Alto firewalls, segmentation, remote connectivity)
  • Manage F5 BIG-IP load balancers (virtual servers, pools, health monitors, certificates)
  • Support Azure networking (VNets, subnets, NSGs, route tables, gateways, hybrid connectivity)
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across multiple domains and analyze telemetry for root causes
  • Perform upgrades, patching, lifecycle, and capacity planning
  • Monitor availability and performance; ensure operational resilience and disaster recovery readiness
  • Maintain diagrams, configuration records, standards, and documentation
  • Participate in incident/problem/change management; collaborate with cross-functional teams
Key requirements
  • UK Citizenship is required
  • Current BPSS clearance or higher
  • Hands-on Cisco networking experience (Nexus, ISE, SD-WAN, data centre networking)
  • Experience with Nexus environments, Leaf-Spine, VXLAN, EVPN
  • Experience with Cisco NDFC or equivalent data centre management
  • Experience with enterprise routing and switching at scale
  • Experience administering Palo Alto firewalls and enterprise security
  • Experience with F5 BIG-IP and Microsoft Azure networking
  • Experience with network monitoring, traffic analysis, and packet capture
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues across network, cloud, and security platforms
  • Experience supporting resilience, business continuity, and disaster recovery
  • Strong communication and documentation
  • Stakeholder engagement capabilities
  • Ability to work in highly regulated, security-conscious environments
  • Advanced enterprise networking knowledge (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VRFs, Spanning Tree, link aggregation)
  • Data centre concepts (Leaf-Spine, VXLAN, EVPN)
  • VPNs, network access control, authentication/authorization, security principles
