Lead IVVQ Engineer

In this role you lead IVVQ efforts within the Communications and Acoustic Products team, shaping RF communications solutions for underwater systems. You translate customer and regulatory needs into designs and tests, guiding cost, schedule, and resource estimates. You own system integration and testing, writing and executing test specifications, resolving defects, and driving quality. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure risks are reduced and designs meet mission-critical requirements. This is a chance to influence advanced underwater sensing capabilities for national security.

- Convert requirements into conceptual designs and conduct analyses and trade studies
- Lead development lifecycle and lifecycle products awareness
- Interface with clients to approve test specs and host acceptance tests
- Write and authorise test specifications and execute tests
- Record results, investigate defects, maintain quality targets
- Provide status reports to the Principal IVVQ Engineer
- Lead design reviews and cost reviews within bid and project context
- Prepare system/subsystem requirement specifications and test documents
- Develop system operational plans and performance analyses to meet requirements
- Lead generation of IVVQ engineering estimates and quality metrics
- Represent IVVQ at Design Reviews and project planning meetings
- Develop and maintain engineering tools and stay abreast of technical developments
- Lead team coordination and mentoring of staff
- Manage budgets and deliver compliant solutions at optimum cost
- Proven experience in Systems/IVVQ Engineering in a related field
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills across levels
- Experience with both functional and non-functional testing
- Leadership experience with teams in engineering environments
- Ability to identify and mitigate design risks in complex systems
