Lead JavaScript Frontend Developer

Lead JavaScript frontend development for CIBC’s Digital Web Development team in Toronto, delivering enterprise-scale web applications and client-focused solutions.

As Frontend JavaScript Developer Lead, you will guide technical design, development, and integration across complex applications. You will assemble and maintain flexible, personalized solutions that support CIBC’s digital transformation. The work follows a hybrid arrangement, with one to three days weekly on-site at Toronto-81 Bay and remaining days remote.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate complicated application programming activities
• Design application infrastructure using databases, languages, utilities, and testing approaches
• Lead innovative, cost-effective solution development
• Develop multi-year technology roadmaps aligned with business goals
• Run code reviews and mentor developers

Requirements:

• Five to eight years of relevant experience
• Frontend web application development using JavaScript
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Root Cause Analysis and corrective action planning experience
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or technical discipline
