In this role you will provide technical leadership for the manufacture, industrialisation and supplier development of highly complex PCBs within the UK ECRS Mk2 programme. You will act as subject matter expert across PCB technologies, driving transition from development to high-yield production and coordinating with engineering, manufacturing, quality and supply chain functions. You will define technical strategies, assess supplier capability, and lead improvements to deliver on cost, quality and schedule objectives. This is a mission-focused role that shapes PCB manufacturing capability for a critical defence project.

- Provide technical leadership for PCB manufacture and industrialisation across the Mk2 Programme
- Own the technical strategy for highly complex PCB assemblies to enable reliable, repeatable production at optimized cost
- Collaborate with Project Engineering Lead and Programme Manager on cost-time trade-offs and budgets
- Lead technical engagement with PCB manufacturers and key supply chain partners
- Assess supplier capability, process maturity and technical risk in detail
- Lead supplier development and supply chain maturity activities to improve manufacturing performance, quality, yield and capacity
- Identify process weaknesses and drive corrective and preventive improvement plans within suppliers
- Ensure capacity, yield and cost targets are achieved in short and long term
- Provide DfM and DfA guidance to engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle
- Lead reviews of manufacturing readiness, production risk and technical compliance
- Communicate technical risks and opportunities to Project Chief Engineer and Programme Leadership
- Support configuration control, qualification, verification and acceptance activities for PCB production
- Represent Leonardo in engagements with customers, senior leadership and external stakeholders to define and deliver technical solutions
- Minimum 10 years' experience in PCB development, manufacture and industrialisation
- Extensive experience with highly complex multilayer and high-reliability PCBs
- Deep expertise in PCB fabrication, assembly and manufacturing technologies
- Proven track record of moving PCB products from development and low-yield to stable, high-yield production
- Strong understanding of process capability, yield management and manufacturing quality systems
- Experience identifying supplier weaknesses and implementing improvement plans
- Experience working with PCB fabricators and assembly houses to resolve complex challenges
- Strong knowledge of DfM and DfA principles applied to complex electronic products
- Experience leading supplier technical assessments, audits and manufacturing readiness reviews
- Understanding of capacity planning, supply chain resilience and manufacturing risk management
