Lead Platform Engineer

In this role you will lead the design, delivery and operation of enterprise platforms for major client transformation programmes. You will act as a technical leader and trusted advisor, combining hands-on engineering with people leadership and client engagement. You will work with client stakeholders to ensure secure, scalable platform solutions aligned to business outcomes. You will shape platform capabilities across cloud, IaC, DevOps, observability and security to accelerate delivery and enhance developer experience. • Lead the design and delivery of cloud and platform solutions for major client programmes
• Build trusted relationships with client technical and delivery stakeholders
• Represent the senior platform engineering in client meetings, workshops and governance forums
• Provide technical leadership during discovery, architecture, mobilisation and delivery
• Mentor a team of platform engineers
• Define platform standards, engineering patterns and operational best practices
• Drive automation via Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines
• Ensure platforms are secure, resilient and compliant with client and regulatory requirements
• Support solution development, estimates, bid responses and technical assurance
• Collaborate with architects, engineering teams and programme leaders to resolve complex challenges
• Escalate and resolve critical platform and infrastructure issues
• Drive continuous improvement, cost optimisation and operational excellence

• Significant experience delivering cloud and platform solutions in complex enterprise environments (Azure / AWS)
• Experience working directly with external clients and senior stakeholders
• Strong consulting and stakeholder management skills
• Experience leading technical workshops and architecture discussions
• Strong Azure expertise and cloud-native engineering
• Kubernetes, containerisation and modern platform engineering experience
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD, automation and IaC
• Experience operating in regulated, secure or mission-critical environments
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Experience leading and developing engineering teams
