Lead Platform Engineer

In this senior, hands-on leadership role you design, build, and operate an MLOps platform on Kubernetes to support AI/ML workloads in production. You will lead through technical depth across platform engineering, DevOps, and MLOps, shaping tooling, workflows, and reliability for data scientists and ML engineers. You’ll ensure the platform is usable, secure, and scalable, with strong operability and governance. This role offers the chance to influence production-grade AI platforms and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams. The position is on-site five days a week and requires DV clearance.

• Provide technical leadership across platform, DevOps, and MLOps
• Design, build, and operate a Kubernetes-based MLOps platform supporting the full model lifecycle
• Implement and run MLOps tooling for model experimentation, packaging, versioning, and deployment
• Build and operate model serving and inference platforms within Kubernetes
• Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to ensure usability and alignment with workflows
• Own platform operability, reliability, security, and production supportability
• Troubleshoot complex issues across Kubernetes, platform services, and MLOps layers
• Contribute to architectural decisions while delivering hands-on
• Apply pragmatic engineering judgement under AI workload operational demands

• Senior or Lead Platform Engineer / DevOps experience
• Hands-on Kubernetes platform experience
• Experience with Helm and Terraform (IaC)
• Ability to extend Kubernetes with higher-level platforms and services
• Strong knowledge of monitoring, logging, incident response, reliability, and maintenance
• Experience supporting production workloads with engineers and data scientists
• MLOps experience with Kubeflow or similar tools
• Running model serving/inference platforms (KServe, vLLM, etc.)
• Notebook environments such as JupyterHub in secure platforms
• Exposure to tools like InstructLab and Trustworthy AI tooling
