Overview

In this role you lead teams to design, automate, and operate modern digital service platforms in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You act as the technical leader, mentor peers, and interact with customers to ensure high-quality delivery. You’ll champion DevOps culture, share knowledge, and push for responsible, transparent decision-making while exploring new technologies to shape scalable platforms for real impact.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with engineering, testing, consulting, product management and security to build, test, and deploy high-quality software and maintain platform services.
  • Apply modern technologies and best practices to maximise user and business value.
  • Share knowledge internally and publicly through communities of practice and industry channels.
  • Model and promote DevOps values, providing trustworthy leadership and mentoring.
  • Explore and pivot toward specialisms as you gain exposure to new technologies.
  • Provide technical direction and leadership for the team on delivery and support projects.
  • Coach and develop team members, managing performance and career progression.
Key requirements
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven experience in team leadership and enabling a DevOps culture on complex projects.
  • Role requires SC Clearance.
  • Extensive experience designing, building, testing, automating, monitoring, and improving reliability of modern digital service platforms in production.
  • Experience with continuous delivery and automation, including platform orchestration via configuration management tools.
  • Experience with building or supporting modern digital service platforms including architecture, design, estimation, planning, and MVP iteration using agile methods.
  • Advocacy for Site Reliability Engineering tooling, techniques, and processes to manage and improve platform services (monitoring, modernization, cost optimization).
  • Experience with AWS (SaaS or PaaS offerings) to solve business problems.
