Overview

In this role you will lead the design and delivery of enterprise-grade, cloud-native solutions that blend backend Python services, modern frontend interfaces, and GenAI integrations. You will steer architectural decisions, set and enforce engineering best practices, and provide technical guidance across complex tasks. The position sits in a hybrid UK setting, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver technical roadmaps and high-quality releases. This is an impact-driven opportunity to shape AI-enabled architectures and scalable applications.

Responsibilities
  • Drive full-stack solution design in alignment with project goals
  • Lead end-to-end development of Python-based backend services and APIs
  • Oversee frontend interfaces using React.js and TypeScript
  • Integrate AI/ML and GenAI capabilities into production applications
  • Ensure coding standards, testing strategy, and CI/CD practices for quality releases
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver technical roadmaps and milestones
  • Guide DevOps integration for containerization and Azure deployment
  • Optimize architecture for performance, scalability, and security in a cloud-native context
Key requirements
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience (backend and full-stack)
  • Strong Python proficiency and frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, Django)
  • Hands-on leadership in full-stack delivery and architecture decisions
  • Expertise in React.js and TypeScript
  • Working knowledge of GenAI and AI/ML model integration (Azure OpenAI, LangChain)
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred)
  • Azure deployment experience with Docker containerization
  • SQL databases (Microsoft SQL Server or equivalent) and NoSQL concepts
  • Familiarity with microservices, API-first architecture and DevOps principles
  • Knowledge of Azure AI Foundry, MLOps workflows, and AI observability
  • Experience with Databricks for data processing
  • Understanding of RAG architectures, vector databases, and advanced conversational AI patterns
  • Familiarity with dbt and MKDocs for documentation
  • Previous experience in energy, financial, or utilities domains
