In this role you will lead QA and testing across multiple Borders & Trade initiatives within HMRC, guiding quality strategy and assurance. You will drive testing standards, coordinate cross-functional teams, and champion automation and modern testing practices. You’ll influence release readiness and risk mitigation in a complex, fast-paced environment. This is a chance to shape testing approaches for critical customs and trade systems and to grow within a mission-driven digital organisation.

- Lead, manage and deliver QA and testing activities across multiple products, projects, or programmes
- Define and implement testing strategies, standards, and best practices
- Act as a recognised SME in testing disciplines, providing guidance to project teams
- Lead, coach, and mentor staff to build a high-performing testing community
- Evaluate and promote testing tools and approaches supporting functional and non-functional testing
- Analyse and communicate test outcomes and quality metrics to stakeholders
- Drive test automation and CI/CD adoption to embed quality in the SDLC
- Build relationships with delivery teams, stakeholders, and supplier teams for continuous improvement
- Experience leading technical/product teams in Agile environments
- Experience across full SDLC with testing strategies and quality frameworks
- Experience with test automation, testing tools, and CI/CD practices
- Experience establishing quality metrics and reporting frameworks
- Experience influencing stakeholders to drive quality outcomes
