As a Lead Software Engineer in the Data Platforms team, you drive the development of scalable, secure software that underpins trusted financial technology products. You act as a core technical contributor across multiple domains, shaping meta-programming, domain language design, and distributed systems in a cloud-first environment. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality code and improve engineering outcomes through AI-assisted practices. This role offers the chance to influence architectural decisions and elevate production systems at scale.
Responsibilities- Lead engineering of metadata, meta-modelling and distributed systems
- Develop secure, high-quality production code and review others’ code
- Drive adoption of enterprise AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed
- Establish validation standards (secure coding, peer review, automated testing) and promote reuse of patterns
- Leverage SDLC tools and automation to enhance value, including AI-assisted development
- Identify opportunities to automate recurring issues to improve stability
- Formal training or certification in software engineering
- Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Proficiency in Scala and Java
- Experience with asynchronous runtimes like Cats Effect
- Experience leading the use of AI-assisted software development tools with emphasis on correctness, performance, and security
- Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows and secure handling of data
- Proficiency across the Software Development Life Cycle
- Advanced understanding of agile methods, CI/CD, resiliency, and security
- In-depth knowledge of financial services IT systems and practical cloud-native experience
