Lead Security Operations Center Engineer

Lead SOC strategy, threat detection, and incident response for a fintech company while working fully remotely from anywhere in South Africa.

This experienced Lead Security Operations Center Engineer will establish and manage the Security Operations function. The work covers SOC processes, SIEM, SOAR, threat analysis, and initial incident response. You will also lead and mentor SOC analysts while shaping cybersecurity defense capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish and lead the Security Operations Center function
• Develop and implement SOC strategies, policies, and procedures
• Oversee monitoring, threat detection, and initial incident response
• Manage SIEM, SOAR, IDS/IPS, and monitoring tools
• Develop detection use cases and response playbooks

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
• Six years cybersecurity experience, including three leadership years
• Experience designing, building, and operating SOC functions
• Knowledge of SIEM, SOAR, IDS/IPS, and EDR
• Incident response, forensic analysis, and leadership skills
