Lead Software Architect

As a senior architecture leader within Jacobs, you define and steer the architecture strategy for a global product organization, ensuring scalable, secure and reusable software. You will guide cross-functional engineering and product teams, setting practical patterns and standards to reduce complexity and elevate delivery quality. You’ll identify where AI and agent-based capabilities add value, aligning technology, data and delivery practices for smarter, connected products. • Define and champion architecture strategy across products to enable scalability, security, integration and change
• Lead architecture and design discussions; guide development of complex enterprise software
• Introduce reusable patterns and technical standards to reduce complexity and improve delivery quality
• Assess and apply AI and agent-based capabilities to create measurable value
• Ensure platforms, data, integrations and engineering practices support intelligent, connected digital products

• Significant experience designing and delivering complex enterprise software systems
• Strong knowledge of software architecture, system design, architectural patterns and trade-offs
• Experience designing scalable, maintainable, secure and extensible software
• Proven track record leading technical initiatives across multiple teams
• Experience with cloud-based software platforms
• Understanding of modern delivery practices including CI/CD, DevOps and source control
• Ability to explain complex technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
