As Lead Software Developer in Edinburgh, you’ll guide a high-performing engineering team within the Issuer Services unit to build a unified, market-leading digital platform. You’ll mentor engineers, promote engineering best practices, and collaborate closely with business stakeholders to deliver robust, high-quality web applications. The role combines hands-on technical work with people leadership in a fast-growing, collaborative environment that values continuous learning. Responsibilities
  • Build and nurture a skilled, motivated software engineering group
  • Ensure close, collaborative engagement between the team and the business
  • Coordinate coaching, mentoring, and professional development within the team
  • Promote learning opportunities, including industry updates and formal mentoring
  • Drive maturation of Software/Solution Engineering as a valued discipline in the team
  • Share learnings through conferences and internal knowledge sharing
  • Remain hands-on with technical work while guiding the team
  • Collaborate with product managers, delivery leads, test teams and support functions
  • Understand and apply best practices from across Computershare Engineering to projects
Key requirements
  • Hands-on full stack engineer with React, C#, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework and SQL
  • Experience leading the engineering of web applications; mobile development experience is a plus
  • Strong track record collaborating with product managers, delivery leads, test teams and support functions
  • Ability to understand the business domains of the products worked on
  • Experience working effectively with remote teams
  • Coaching, mentoring and day-to-day support to engineers in the team
