Lead Software Engineer

As Lead Software Engineer, you will guide a small autonomous squad within a broader engineering function, delivering world-class AI-enabled products for professionals and clients. You’ll balance hands-on delivery with technical leadership, mentoring a team of engineers and collaborating with a Product Owner. This role blends backend, frontend, and cloud work to build scalable, secure solutions that transform document management and workflow automation. You’ll operate in a lean Agile setup, shaping core architecture and reusable components, with a strong impact across the business.

• Lead a squad of software and QA engineers, delivering end-to-end products
• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance
• Line-manage a team of ~4 developers
• Collaborate with Product Owner on prioritization and roadmap
• Develop back-end services (C#/ASP.NET Core) and front-end work (TypeScript/React)
• Containerise applications and deploy via Azure Kubernetes Service
• Design resilient microservices and data models; work with databases
• Promote secure coding, tests, and infrastructure-as-code
• Share knowledge and contribute to reusable components across teams

• Hands-on experience designing, specifying and building software end to end
• Ability to articulate how generative AI can solve document management and workflow problems
• Track record of leading and mentoring engineers
• Strong experience in C# or Java
• Deep knowledge of software design patterns, clean code and clean architecture
• Experience building REST APIs and working with messaging systems
• Confidence defining data models and working with databases
• Experience shipping user-facing web applications
