Lead Software Engineer - Application Owner & Release Manager

In this role, you own governance, risk posture, and operational resiliency for the Wholesale Credit Risk Analytics platform. You collaborate across engineering, cyber, risk, and resiliency to keep critical analytics healthy and compliant while enabling safe change delivery. You will work on cloud-native analytics, driving automation to reduce toil and empower engineers and data scientists. This position offers breadth across cloud, data, and software engineering with opportunities to lead through influence and execution. You will translate firm-wide mandates into actionable backlogs and ensure releases move to production with minimal disruption.
Responsibilities- Maintain accurate system-of-record information, certifications, and remediation workflows to govern applications
- Coordinate permit-to-operate activities and re-certifications for safe production releases
- Assess and remediate risk findings, prioritizing actions with engineering teams to meet timelines
- Enforce least privilege, segregation of duties, and periodic access reviews in partnership with control owners
- Maintain recovery plans and support resiliency events and testing
- Identify end-of-life or prohibited components and coordinate upgrades across dependencies
- Lead firmwide initiatives and non-functional tasks with a consolidated view of requirements and completion
- Lead release management, aligning stakeholders, managing dependencies and overseeing readiness, deployment, and post-release validation
- Develop secure, high-quality production code and contribute to troubleshooting, reviews, and continuous improvement
- Promote enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve quality, speed, and outcomes with secure validation standards
- Leverage the software development lifecycle toolchain and AI-assisted development and automation to increase automation value
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
- Hands-on experience delivering design, development, testing, and operational stability in agile environments
- Proficiency in Python and Java
- Proficiency in automation and CI/CD practices
- Working knowledge of AWS cloud-native delivery (object storage, compute, containers, managed data processing)
- Understanding of technology risk, controls, and compliance including IAM and audit readiness
- Experience leading use of approved AI-assisted software development tools with guidance on validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security
- Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows and secure handling of data
- Ability to understand end-to-end application architectures, dependencies, data flows, and deployment topology
- Strong organization, prioritization, and communication skills with influence without direct authority
