Lead Software Engineer - Cloud Runtime Compute

You join the Commercial & Investment Bank Runtime Compute Team in Cloud Success to shape firm-wide cloud runtime compute products. You’ll work with stakeholders across Infrastructure Platforms, cyber security, and technology partners to reduce costs, improve reliability, and scale runtime compute solutions. You’ll lead engineering efforts with a security-first mindset while promoting AI-assisted practices to accelerate delivery. This role offers tangible impact on how the bank runs scalable, secure cloud workloads. You will collaborate across disciplines to drive adoption and excellence in engineering standards.
Responsibilities- Develop and engineer cloud runtime compute products with a security-first approach
- Collaborate with Infrastructure Platform teams, Product Security, SRE, Architecture, and application teams
- Participate actively in team activities and support colleagues
- Create and maintain documentation for architecture, design, and usage
- Foster a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative team culture
- Lead adoption of enterprise-approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operations
- Apply SDLC tooling knowledge to enhance automation and ensure secure, validated outputs
- Computer Science degree or equivalent expertise
- Practical cloud native experience
- Hands-on system design, development, testing, and operations throughout the SDLC in an agile environment
- Strong experience with more than one programming language
- Good understanding of agile methodologies
- Proven ability to lead use of AI-assisted development tools with focus on correctness, performance, and security
- Knowledge of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure handling, resiliency and security expectations, with coaching experience
