In this Lead Software Engineer role, you will shape mission-critical, AI-enabled analytics platforms within Fitch Ratings’ Ratings Technology team. You’ll blend hands-on engineering leadership with architectural input to modernize workflows and promote responsible AI adoption across squads. You will mentor engineers, drive practical AI experiments, and deliver scalable full-stack solutions that empower analysts. Responsibilities
  • Define technical vision and accelerate AI-enabled transformation with Python and React
  • Guide architectural decisions and establish coding standards
  • Mentor engineers and foster a culture of experimentation and psychological safety
  • Champion responsible AI adoption, evaluate proofs of concept, and scale successful practices
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines and conduct architecture reviews for scalability and performance
  • Lead strategic technical initiatives spanning multiple teams and share AI learnings
  • Ensure reliability and performance in fast-paced Agile environments
Key requirements
  • 12+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Expert Python backend development for scalable enterprise applications
  • Hands-on React experience in production-grade web apps
  • Strong TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML, CSS skills
  • Experience designing RESTful APIs and integrating third-party services
  • Solid software design principles, data structures, algorithms, and scalable architecture
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
  • AI Fluency and familiarity with AI platforms (LLM APIs such as OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Anthropic)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience
