Lead Software Engineer – Industrial Sustainability Reporting Platform

In this role you will lead the design and delivery of scalable, API-first platforms with AI-enabled features. You’ll own front-end and back-end development, drive reliable, observable production systems, and champion DevOps and testing excellence. You will collaborate with product, design, and platform teams to address customer pain points and accelerate sustainable, cloud-native solutions. • Design, architect, and implement scalable APIs, services, and accessibility-first UIs
• Deliver AI-native features across front-end and back-end (carbon accounting, ESG data collection, sustainability planning)
• Evolve platform to modular, event-driven, API-first components
• Provide technical direction and make trade-offs on scalability, maintainability, performance, and product impact
• Own reliability and operational excellence (telemetry, SLOs, error budgets, on-call, incident response)
• Champion DevOps practices (CI/CD, deployment automation, monitoring, operations)
• Collaborate with Platform Engineers in a lean DevOps shared service model; own application-level DevOps
• Mentor engineers, promote engineering best practices, raise technical bar
• Champion code quality, testing, performance, security, maintainability
• Ensure deliverables are production-ready with test automation and continuous improvement
• Partner with Product, Design, AI, Platform, and other engineering teams on discovery, trade-offs, and delivery
• Maintain a product- and customer-led mindset to solve pain points with scalable solutions
• Identify technical risks and opportunities to improve platform architecture and ways of working

• Strong full-stack software engineering experience across front-end and back-end
• Solid experience with modern front-end technologies (React or similar)
• Strong back-end experience (GoLang or equivalent)
• Experience designing and building scalable APIs and cloud-native apps
• Strong understanding of DevOps practices (CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, incident response)
• Experience delivering secure, observable, high-quality production software
• Commitment to code quality, automated testing, documentation, performance, maintainability
• Ability to lead technical design discussions and influence architecture
