Lead Software Engineer - Java & AI

As Lead Software Engineer in the Payments team, you will craft a cloud-based, high-performance payments application. You’ll design and implement end-to-end payment flows and contribute across multiple technical areas to support growth. In a collaborative agile environment, you’ll drive innovation and stability in a rapidly expanding business. Your work will directly impact scalable, low-latency payments solutions and trusted technology products.

• Design, develop and troubleshoot software solutions
• Write secure, production-grade code and review peers' work
• Promote AI-assisted engineering practices to improve quality and delivery
• Define and enforce validation standards including secure coding, peer review, and automated testing
• Encourage reuse of proven patterns across the team
• Leverage SDLC tools and enterprise AI automation capabilities
• Lead architectural design evaluations with internal teams
• Lead communities of practice to adopt new technologies
• Foster a culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect

• Hands-on coding experience with a proven track record
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows
• Experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant AI adoption
• Experience delivering system design, development, testing, and operational stability
• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages, ideally Java
• Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
• Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
• Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes in relevant disciplines (cloud, AI/ML, etc.)
• Knowledge of the financial services industry and cloud-native experience
