Overview

As an Engineer in J.P. Morgan Personal Investing, you will help deliver a best-in-market mobile and web experience for clients. You will work in cross‑functional squads, applying an Agile SDLC to ship features and evolve a cloud-native, microservices-based architecture. You’ll own tasks end-to-end, contribute to code quality, and participate in knowledge sharing to drive fintech-focused product delivery. This role offers the chance to impact how clients invest, backed by a long-standing heritage and a culture of collaboration. You will be able to shape solutions in a fast-changing environment, contributing to scalable, reliable software that supports financial decisions.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Product team to translate user needs into deliverable features and work within an Agile SDLC
  • Contribute to architectural evolution using microservices on Kubernetes, ADRs, and event-driven design
  • Take ownership of tasks from estimation to release and post-production support
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve prioritized defects
  • Write tests to ensure high-quality code and adhere to standards
  • Own or assist with releases and continuous deployment processes
  • Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and continuous learning
  • Share knowledge through team and department skill sessions
  • Propose or collaborate on technical initiatives to improve codebase and tooling
Key requirements
  • English working proficiency
  • Product engineer mindset with a track record of delivering high-quality software
  • Experience with a JVM language (Java/Scala/Kotlin) and Springboot
  • Experience designing systems from scratch and evolving architectures (serverless and cloud)
  • Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures and Kafka
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting for production environments
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs
  • Experience with Git flow
  • Good communication and collaboration across teams
