Overview
As a Lead Software Engineer in the JPMorgan Chase Personal Investing Backend Engineering Platform, you will shape a Spring Boot-based framework enabling product teams to scale financial services. You’ll contribute hands-on, driving standardization and best practices across the Investments tech landscape while collaborating with SDLC and Infrastructure teams. You’ll tackle complex technical challenges, design strategic solutions, and mentor peers. This role offers impact by enhancing developer productivity and delivering platform-as-a-product capabilities that support secure, compliant systems at scale.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain backend frameworks and libraries using Java and Spring Boot
- Provide out-of-the-box implementations for functional and non-functional requirements
- Collaborate with product engineering teams to improve productivity and engineering experience
- Tackle complex technical challenges and guide the team with strategic solutions
- Coordinate with SDLC and Infrastructure to enable Platform as a Product delivery
- Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot (or similar) frameworks
- Experience with Maven and Gradle and SDLC standardisation
- Experience building APIs in microservice architectures within distributed systems
- Solid understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices
- Excellent communication, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to drive change and influence engineering direction
