Lead Software Engineer — Portfolio Insights Platform, Wealth Management

Overview

In this role you will lead development of platforms delivering position and account data for Wealth Management advisors, enabling real-time alerts, portfolio analytics, and client dashboards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive technical excellence, reliability, and meaningful impact on how advisors and clients experience services. Expect involvement in scaling and shaping the team culture while using cutting-edge tools to deliver value across the advisory business. This role offers a chance to influence platform quality and business outcomes through technical leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Execute creative software solutions across ingestion, resolution, and serving layers of the platform
  • Design, develop, and troubleshoot data-reconciliation challenges
  • Develop secure, high-quality production code in Java/Spring Boot and Python/Java Lambdas
  • Review and debug code across services and repositories
  • Adopt enterprise AI-assisted engineering practices and validate AI-generated code
  • Apply SDLC tooling and AI-assisted development to speed delivery
  • Automate remediation of recurring operational issues to improve stability
  • Evaluate architectural approaches for data-platform challenges and lead technical discussions
Key requirements
  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts
  • Advanced hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot in a microservices architecture
  • AWS cloud-native patterns: Lambda, Step Functions, Terraform-managed infrastructure, and relational databases at scale
  • Working knowledge of event-driven systems, including Kafka producers/consumers
  • Experience leading use of AI-assisted development tools with strong validation of AI output
  • Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity and secure handling
  • Full SDLC proficiency with agile delivery, CI/CD, resiliency, and security practices
  • Knowledge of financial services IT systems, ideally wealth/advisory data
