In this Lead Software Engineer role, you will build and evolve developer-facing tools and platforms to boost productivity for thousands of engineers. You’ll shape the developer experience from code to production, partnering across technology, platform engineering, and governance. You’ll tackle high-impact projects that improve quality, controls, and delivery speed, while fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement. The opportunity centers on AI-assisted tooling, scalable platforms, and improving engineering practices at scale.
Responsibilities- Build and evolve developer-facing products (IDE experiences, web tooling, test infrastructure, SDLC workflows)
- Improve productivity and confidence for thousands of engineers through impactful tooling
- Own features across discovery, design, implementation, rollout, telemetry, and support
- Translate ambiguous challenges into scalable platform capabilities
- Drive adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices with validation standards
- Leverage Software Development Life Cycle toolchain knowledge to enhance automation and value
- Partner with controls and audit stakeholders to implement low-friction engineering controls
- Influence engineering standards and best practices across a broad developer community
- Design and implement IDE/editor capabilities for smarter navigation and code intelligence
- Drive AI adoption in local development tools and improve development practices
- Develop static analysis and auto-remediation tools to prevent production errors
- Build test frameworks and scheduling systems for large-scale cloud-based workloads
- Create tooling to identify code duplication, dead code, and opportunities for simplification
- Strong software engineering fundamentals
- Proficiency in multiple languages with emphasis on Python; familiarity with TypeScript/React and SQL
- Solid understanding of testing, reliability, and maintainable system design
- Experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted development tools with setting team expectations for validity, performance, and security
- Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling, and resiliency
- Ability to operate independently in ambiguous problems and collaborate across teams
- Ability to turn loosely defined requirements into robust, widely adopted solutions
