Overview

In this Lead Software Engineer role within JPMorganChase's CIB Equities Technology – Prime Services, you will drive scalable, secure technology that supports front-office trading workflows. You collaborate with traders and quants to deliver solutions and align technical decisions with business goals. You develop high-quality production Python code, review peers, and automate recurring issues to boost reliability. You’ll lead communities of practice and contribute to an inclusive team culture. This role offers the chance to shape critical market-facing technology at a global bank.

Responsibilities
  • Write high-quality Python code for front-office Technology Systems
  • Collaborate with Traders and Quantitative Researchers to enhance trading and execution workflows
  • Create alignment with stakeholders, both technical and non-technical
  • Design, develop, and troubleshoot solutions beyond routine approaches
  • Develop secure production code and review/debug others' code
  • Identify opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues for operational stability
  • Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote new technologies
  • Contribute to team culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect
Key requirements
  • Formal training or certification in software engineering and 5+ years of applicable experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • In-depth knowledge of Capital Markets and Equity Market Microstructure
  • Strong knowledge of electronic trading workflows across pre-trade analytics, signal generation, execution algorithms and post-trade analysis
  • Advanced proficiency in Python
  • Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to translate business and quantitative requirements into scalable architectures and implementation roadmaps
  • Collaborative mindset
  • Strong communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Problem-solving and analytical thinking
