Lead Solution Architect

In this role you design and deliver scalable, secure technology solutions for the London Market, aligning business needs with architectural standards. You translate blueprints into concrete designs and support delivery teams through the lifecycle. You collaborate with product owners, developers, and analysts to manage dependencies, risks, and compliance. Your work shapes how technology enables fast-paced insurance delivery while upholding governance and interoperability. This is a delivery-focused, collaborative opportunity in a dynamic culture.

• Translate architectural blueprints into detailed solution designs that are scalable and secure
• Ensure alignment with enterprise standards and minimize technical debt
• Support integration with existing systems and processes
• Participate in design reviews and provide constructive guidance
• Collaborate with product owners, developers, and analysts to capture requirements and constraints
• Act as trusted advisor to delivery teams on technical challenges and dependencies
• Liaise with Group Technology and vendors to meet compliance and interoperability standards
• Ensure adherence to architectural principles and governance frameworks
• Document designs clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Support risk identification and mitigation during delivery

• Proven solution architecture experience in insurance or financial services
• Strong knowledge of application design, integration patterns, and cloud technologies
• Ability to balance technical innovation with delivery constraints
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Familiarity with London Market processes and Lloyd’s market systems (desirable)
• Experience with API-driven architectures and microservices (desirable)
• Knowledge of security and regulatory requirements in financial services (desirable)
