Lead Solution Architect

In this Lead Solution Architect role, you will steer architectural direction for a broad portfolio of cloud-based software, guiding cross-functional teams to design scalable, secure solutions. You’ll shape engineering standards, promote best practices, and enable future growth with AI-enabled capabilities. It’s a transformation role that links business needs to robust technical delivery across multiple teams, within Jacobs’ Design Automation group. You’ll influence how software is built and delivered to solve real-world engineering challenges.

• Provide architectural leadership across a diverse portfolio of products/services
• Translate business needs into robust, scalable, secure solutions
• Guide architectural decision-making and mentor engineering teams
• Review solution designs and establish consistent development, cloud, CI/CD approaches
• Engage with engineers at a detailed level and help solve complex technical challenges

• Experience designing and delivering distributed, cloud-based solutions in Azure, AWS, or similar environments
• Proven track record leading architectural efforts across multiple applications or teams
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, cloud-native development, and SDLC principles
• Experience mentoring engineers and influencing direction without direct line management
• Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience in SaaS or product-led environments; exposure to cloud-native software is valuable
• Familiarity with .NET, C#, Python, microservices, and AI-enabled development is beneficial
• Experience in AEC sector or with Autodesk/Bentley Systems is an advantage but not required
