Overview

In this Director-level role, you own the strategy, architecture, and delivery of the productivity and collaboration ecosystem, spanning tools like Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and associated platforms. You will lead a global team, manage the budget and vendor contracts, and partner with security and architecture to ensure secure, scalable, and cost-effective solutions. You drive enterprise adoption of new tools, guide cross-functional initiatives, and influence senior stakeholders. This role offers high impact at scale within a digitally focused organization.

Responsibilities
  • Define and own the strategy, architecture, and roadmap for the productivity and collaboration stack, including messaging, meeting, file, and workflow platforms
  • Maintain fluency across collaboration technologies and AI-enabled productivity tools
  • Evaluate new technologies, run pilots and enterprise rollouts, and oversee governance and integration standards
  • Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and architecture teams to meet enterprise standards for security, compliance, scalability, and reliability
  • Coordinate M&A/divestment technical integration planning and execution for productivity and collaboration
  • Lead a globally distributed team, set vision and OKRs, mentor staff, and foster continuous improvement
  • Drive adoption of new tools and ways of working, and represent the function in leadership forums
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business units, ensuring requirements are understood and pipeline is aligned with platform design
  • Lead budgeting for licensing, infrastructure, and services; drive cost optimization and ROI focused investments
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with major vendors, ensuring value, SLAs, and cost efficiency
  • Manage stakeholder communications, translating business needs into technical solutions, and reporting roadmaps and incidents
Key requirements
  • 5+ years in collaboration, digital workplace, or end-user technology roles with director-level responsibility or equivalent scale
  • 3+ years in people leadership managing technical teams
  • Deep expertise across collaboration platforms (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, SharePoint) and automation/workflow tools
  • Proven experience owning budgets, forecasting, and financial reporting for a technology portfolio
  • Track record in vendor negotiations and enterprise software contract management
  • Strong stakeholder management with experience engaging senior executives
  • Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational, and influencing skills
  • Experience leading geographically dispersed teams
  • Experience with AI-enabled productivity tools and enterprise adoption
  • Certifications such as Microsoft 365, PMP, ITIL, or similar
  • Experience guiding technical input for significant ($15M+) technology procurements
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cost reduction without compromising performance
