Overview

Lead and shape a new test automation squad for inMusic’s music production products, defining the tools, framework, and practices used across product squads. You will own the technical direction, be hands-on, and collaborate with development, QA, and product teams to deliver a robust automation platform. The role combines leadership with practical delivery, including CI integration, regression suites, and an AI-assisted testing approach. Hybrid or UK-office-based in Cambridge, you’ll help scale quality across the product portfolio.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a new squad delivering the test automation initiative across music production products
  • Select, implement, and maintain automated framework, toolchain, and coding standards
  • Design and build CI integration with multi-platform agent configuration and test reporting
  • Develop initial regression suite for a pilot project and establish patterns for product squads
  • Publish and maintain live coverage of automation progress and quality via dashboards
  • Plan and track squad work using Jira
  • Govern AI-assisted test generation, selecting tooling and defining prompts and review standards
  • Collaborate with Director of Software Development, product squads and QA to drive framework adoption
Key requirements
  • Strong test automation experience with framework design and scalable regression suites
  • Proficient in C++ and scripting languages (e.g., Python)
  • Experience designing and maintaining CI pipelines, preferably Jenkins, with multi-platform agents
  • Ability to lead a small squad: setting standards, reviewing work, planning deliverables
  • Strong debugging, testing, and technical communication skills
  • Fluency in English, strong writing skills
  • Interest in music technology, creator tools, hardware/software integration, or audio workflows
  • Practical approach to AI-assisted test generation and disciplined review
