Overview

We have an exciting contract opportunity to join our global EPC client as a Lead Cost Control.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a project controls plan as part of the Project Execution Plan (PEP) for the project execution
  • Plan and organize the setup of project baseline in Fluor’s project controls system, and implement a plan to track against the baseline on a regular basis
  • Develop cost, schedule, and commercial baseline
  • Responsible for providing technical and administrative direction, coordination, evaluation, training, and coaching to a team of Project Controls specialists
  • Analyze variances in cost and schedule performance against the plan, and communicate the reasons for the issuance of variance and proposed mitigation plans to Project Management
  • Supervise the implementation of Work Breakdown and Project Coding Structures for control and integrity of work to be performed as defined by the contract
  • Supervise and manage the change management process
  • Manage the review of Project Profit/Risk Analysis with management and provide status reporting
  • Lead the proposal efforts for cost/scheduling activities
  • Interpret contract conditions to ensure compliance
  • Develop and deliver training programs in Project Controls systems and methods
  • Maintain familiarity with the functionality of Fluor’s automated cost management system and planning and scheduling system
  • Provide meaningful, accurate historical data
  • Lead the project control team
  • Participate in the development and implementation of training courses and mentoring of Project Controls personnel
  • May fill the role of office Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a specific task or range of tasks
  • Serve as a Project Controls Manager on a Project or in a Lead Cost or Schedule position on a project
  • Coordinate internal and external audits
  • Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines
  • Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Plan and organize own work assignments, as well as carry out tasks from management staff
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards
  • Adhere to and support Fluor's Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies
  • Effectively develop and apply the Core Skills to the job
  • May need to travel to attend to business related matters
  • Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and fifteen (15) years* of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to nineteen (19) years* if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
