Linux AWS Specialist – Contract

Overview

In this role you oversee Linux-based cloud environments and help scale client systems on AWS. You will provide advanced support across multi-tier tiers and contribute to shaping scalable infrastructure. You’ll work with leading configuration technologies and gain AWS architecture exposure as the company grows. This position offers a path to technical leadership within a fast-evolving team.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and scale Linux-based cloud services on AWS
  • Provide 3rd/4th line support when needed
  • Utilise and improve monitoring and alerting for systems
  • Leverage configuration management/automation (Puppet, Chef, Salt, Ansible) as applicable
  • Work on networking (TCP/IP) related tasks and optimisations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve reliability and performance

Key requirements
  • Solid Linux experience
  • Red Hat/CentOS preferred
  • Bash or Perl scripting
  • Experience with AWS EC2 and Auto Scaling
  • Networking (TCP/IP) knowledge
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Degree preferable in a quantitative subject
  • Managerial skills a plus
