Overview

In this role you will strengthen and extend a Linux platform while leaning into DevOps work. You’ll automate and streamline operations using Chef and Puppet and lead the build-out of a Kubernetes-based platform. You collaborate with scientists and cross-functional teams to translate ideas into scalable IT reality, supporting cutting-edge research projects from a remote-friendly environment. This is a chance to deepen Linux ownership while gaining hands-on DevOps experience, with a sizable pension on offer.

Responsibilities
  • Build out and enhance a Linux platform for a large-scale environment
  • Troubleshoot and optimize a large platform to improve reliability and performance
  • Develop automation workflows using Chef and Puppet
  • Design, deploy, and manage a Kubernetes platform
  • Serve as a bridge between researchers and IT infrastructure to enable scientific work
  • Collaborate with the team to deliver reliable, scalable IT solutions
  • Participate in on-call or incident response as needed
Key requirements
  • Experience in Linux platform engineering
