Overview

In this role you will support an expanding UK infrastructure for a leading ultra-low latency trading business. You’ll work across hardware, networking, software builds, deployment, automation and tooling within a globally distributed tech ops team. The position focuses on keeping low-latency systems reliable and scalable as the firm grows, including procurement and ongoing optimization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, open and tech-focused culture, delivering robust systems that enable high-performance trading.

Responsibilities
  • Support and scale UK infrastructure to accommodate growth over 6–12 months
  • Triage and troubleshoot complex hardware, network and in-house software issues
  • Manage existing hardware/software footprint and assist with procurement of new systems
  • Develop tooling and automation to improve deploys and operations
  • Work with cross-functional teams to support low-latency electronic trading systems
  • Engage with data-centre architecture and core networking concepts
  • Coordinate with global teams and maintain stable production environments
Key requirements
  • BA degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Science or similar technical field
  • Strong understanding of Linux
  • Python
  • Operations experience
  • Ability to triage, prioritise and troubleshoot complex network and systems issues
  • Knowledge of hardware management and procurement
  • Development of tooling and automation
  • Understanding of core networking concepts (LAN/WAN, data-centre architecture)
  • Morning start at 6:30 a.m.
