Linux Engineer Manager – Quant Trading

In this role you will lead and grow a team of Linux engineers supporting production trading systems. You will contribute hands-on while transitioning into management, shaping the platform that powers critical trading workloads. You’ll foster cross-team partnerships to improve service delivery and tackle OS-to-systems programming challenges at scale. The role combines technical leadership with strategic planning to align platform improvements with business objectives. Responsibilities- Provide leadership and guidance to a growing team of Linux engineers (managers and ICs)
- Maintain and enhance the platform powering production trading systems
- Mentor and support team members to help them excel
- Foster firm-wide partnerships and a collaborative environment
- Analyze and resolve technical challenges from OS fundamentals to systems programming
- Coordinate large-scale efforts to improve service delivery and team productivity
- Assist with short- and long-term planning to optimize performance and align with business goals
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent)
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong programming experience and willingness to learn a new language
- Proven experience leading and supporting individuals and teams
- Ability to build strong organizational partnerships
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills (technical, process, people)
- In-depth knowledge of Linux OS fundamentals
- Proficiency in Unix command line and shell scripting
- Practical experience with modern Linux systems and systems programming concepts
