Overview

As a Linux Engineer in a leading quant trading environment, you will help build and maintain a high-performance platform powering complex trading systems. You will join a skilled, collaborative team that emphasises automation and knowledge sharing to reduce human error. The role blends in-house and open-source tech to enable deep customization and rapid experimentation. Responsibilities
  • Build and improve a best-in-class platform powering complex trading systems
  • Collaborate within a highly skilled Linux-focused team of engineers, admins and developers
  • Automate processes to minimise human error and improve reliability
  • Leverage a mix of in-house and open-source tech for deep customization
  • Troubleshoot and support the platform using advanced debugging tools
  • Work with modern Linux concepts and programming languages (C, sockets, virtual memory) and scripting
  • Contribute to multi-language software development (Go, Python, Java, C++, Scala or similar)
Key requirements
  • Strong STEM background
  • Deep knowledge of Linux and operating systems
  • Fluent command line and shell scripting
  • Familiarity with C, sockets, virtual memory concepts
  • Excellent troubleshooting using debugging tools such as gdp, perf, DTrace
  • Experience programming in any language (Go, Python, Java, C++, Scala or other)
  • Linux operating system expertise
  • Shell scripting and command-line fluency
  • C and systems programming concepts (sockets, virtual memory)
  • Troubleshooting with gdp, perf, DTrace
  • Multi-language programming (Go, Python, Java, C++, Scala)
