In this role you will optimize and build a high‑speed Linux platform powering complex proprietary trading systems. You will work with a top-tier engineering team in a fast, innovative environment that values automation and deep technical curiosity. Your work will focus on poring over performance bottlenecks, tuning systems, and tooling to reduce human error and improve reliability. This position offers exposure to advanced Linux internals and a culture of knowledge sharing within a premier trading firm based in London.
Responsibilities- Improve and build a best-in-class Linux-based platform for proprietary trading systems
- Lead automation initiatives to minimize human error and increase consistency
- Analyze complex performance bottlenecks and implement tuning optimizations
- Deeply customize Linux environments and workflows to support trading workloads
- Debug and diagnose issues using advanced tools and methodologies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust, scalable systems
- Strong background in Linux and operating systems
- Fluent command line and shell scripting
- Proficiency in programming languages (Go, Python, Rust, Julia, Java, C++, Scala, Haskell or similar)
- Understanding of networking protocols and performance tuning
- Experience with debugging tools: gdb, perf, DTrace, SystemTap
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to analyse technical problems clearly and concisely
