Overview
As a Linux Systems Engineer at a leading fintech trading firm, you will design and maintain our global Linux-based server and network stack, driving automation and scalable ops. You will work within a collaborative infrastructure team to support FX, equities and fixed income trading platforms, balancing BAU with project work. You’ll implement secure, automated deployment and incident response while shaping platform improvements. This is a high-tech, fast-paced role with meaningful impact on trading reliability and performance.

- Managed hosted server architecture and Linux-based systems on Dell hardware (VMs)
- Mix of project work and BAU support for the platform
- Automate deployment and standardize configurations
- Troubleshoot incidents and support production change management
- Engage with stakeholders across the business to ensure internal customer satisfaction
- Propose ideas to optimise and automate the platform stack
- Extensive Unix/Linux experience
- Experience with virtual machines and cloud technologies
- Automation and configuration management experience (Ansible, Python, Puppet or similar)
- Scripting/coding experience
- Knowledge of REST APIs, Git, PKI/SSL, DNS, LDAP, and kernel-level debugging is desirable
- Experience with PAM tools and patch management for vulnerabilities
- Git knowledge
- Experience with incident handling and out-of-hours support may be required
