A growing technology organization is seeking a Linux Telecom Support Engineer to support production systems and troubleshoot complex issues across Linux operating systems, applications, and networks.


This role is ideal for a technically strong professional with experience in telecommunications, VoIP, SIP, and Linux-based production environments who enjoys hands-on troubleshooting and working directly with customer engineering and development teams.


Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot production issues involving Linux operating systems, applications, networking, and VoIP platforms.
  • Apply software fixes, updates, patches, and system upgrades.
  • Analyze Linux logs, command-line output, and Wireshark packet captures to identify root causes.
  • Work directly with customer engineering teams to resolve technical issues and discuss requirements.
  • Document production changes and prepare Methods of Procedure (MOPs).
  • Collaborate with development teams to report bugs, analyze traces, and support scheduled maintenance windows.


Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience supporting Linux-based systems, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
  • Strong knowledge of Linux administration and troubleshooting.
  • Solid understanding of telecommunications, VoIP, SIP, and networking.
  • Experience analyzing Wireshark traces and network packet captures.
  • Proficiency gathering and analyzing logs and traces through the Linux command line.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer collaboration skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Linux scripting experience.
  • Basic knowledge of PHP.
  • Familiarity with the Diameter protocol.
  • Experience with VMware vSphere.
  • Basic knowledge of Cisco IOS.


Work Arrangement

This is a hybrid position requiring in-office attendance 2 days per week. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship. xhqgsiq
