Remote ( #LI-Remote )
We are looking to add a paralegal with Michigan Civil Litigation experience, including PIP, bodily injury, and UM/UIM matters, to join our Michigan Staff Counsel team. This is a remote position!
Assists the attorneys in answering interrogatories and preparing motions, complaints, briefs and other legal documents; and performs all types of legal support work assigned research as permitted by the rules of the State Bar.
interviews clients and reduces answers to writing; Obtains, reviews and summarizes medical records at the direction of trial attorneys and has them reviewed by experts as necessary; and arranges for medical examinations.
Assists attorneys in preparing motions, and researches legal points in connection therewith.
Assists attorneys in preparing documents and evidence for trial.
This role, whether performed virtually or in an office setting, will include normal and customary distractions, noise, and interruptions. Sits or stands for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift. Occasionally moves, lifts, carries, and places objects and supplies weighing 0-10 pounds without assistance. Visually locates material, resources and other objects. Ability to continuously operate a computer for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift. Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate keyboard and other office equipment up to a full work shift.
High School Diploma or equivalent required. AND Paralegal certificate or a degree in paralegal studies or the completion of at least one year of law school. Preferred: Bachelors degree. One year experience working in a civil litigation law firm, preferred.
