Overview

As a Low Latency Network Engineer at G-Research in London, you will design and implement highly available co-location networks that power our low-latency platform. You’ll drive optimization of latency, throughput, and resilience while building automated infrastructure and observability. Collaborating with platform and development teams, you’ll contribute to incident response and production reliability. Responsibilities
  • Design and build co-location network solutions for the platform
  • Optimize performance, latency and throughput of the infrastructure
  • Lifecycle management and monitoring of the Colo Network environment
  • Develop automation and operators to extend the infrastructure
  • Collaborate with platform and development teams to define standards and onboard new capabilities
  • Contribute to incident response and production reliability
  • On-call responsibilities for critical parts of the infrastructure
Key requirements
  • Designing and building highly available, mission critical networks
  • Optimising low latency networks (layer 1 switching, RF, LEO, dark fibre) and timing solutions (GPS, PTP, PPS, White Rabbit, NTP)
  • Building packet capture/analysis solutions (optical taps, SPAN, tap aggregation, timestamping)
  • Running product evaluation and testing
  • Building networks and market connectivity in exchange collocations
  • Evaluating WAN connectivity options for diversity and latency
  • Multicast configuration and troubleshooting
  • Automation tools including Git, Python, Jenkins and Ansible
